ASANA BLUEPRINTS: Discerning your perfect personal alignment.
July 26-28th, 2013 The Yoga Lodge on Whidbey Island
Each person embodies their own personal sacred geometry.
Though our bodies express different shapes, sizes and tendencies, we are individually proportioned into our own perfect aspects. It is not always easy to see or even feel these lines, but this retreat aims to open our awareness to our own personal blueprints. Examine the relationships between our boney alignment and our ability to access better balance, strength and mobility. These are internal cues you’ll be able to take with you after our retreat and into your regular practice.
Along the way, Richelle will offer insight to both physical and energetic anatomy to deepen our vision of our internal terrain, and the potential offered by a slow, focused practice. We will be joined by Friend and Colleague, Summer Nemri to supplement our practice with an Eastern viewpoint and optional community acupuncture treatments. If you have never experienced the profound effects of this art, you are in for a treat!
The weekend is not just about asana, but about your well-rounded yoga practice. Together we will experience moving meditations, silent seated meditations, pranayama (breath practice), and mantra meditation (vocal practice).
The schedule is built to offer the most constructive use of our time here at The Lodge. While full participation is encouraged, all practices are optional. The retreat experience is one of immersion, observation, deepening awareness and evolution. Please take part in the most
genuine and organic fashion that meets your own personal needs.
In addition you’ll enjoy:
- Dorm-style accommodation with shared bath/shower (camping or offsite options available).
- All meals; mostly organic, locally sourced vegetarian abundance.
- Community Acupuncture (for a small fee, courtesy of Summer Nemri)
- Wood-fired Sauna-Sweats
- Bonfires; weather/conditions permitting
- Optional walk to the beach

The Yoga Lodge at Whidbey Island boasts five acres of wooded habitat ideal for a retreat from our daily life. Gardens, woodland, wetlands, ponds and beaches are all accessible by foot from this sanctuary of natural living.
The weather on Whidbey Island this time of year is perfect for time spent outdoors–averaging in the mid-70′s and topping out around 90 degrees–this place offers a much more comfortable heat than Central Texas has in store! (Flights from Austin are available at low prices…I’ll keep an eye on Kayak for those who want to travel North). As we get closer, I can also help coordinate car pools from Seattle/Vancouver to Whidbey Island. Travelers will need to fly into Seattle (SeaTac International Airport). Our ferry departs from the Mukilteo Terminal. The ferry website is noted below.
The Lodge sleeps 12-13 and the retreat is limited to 20 people. Deposit of $100 will secure your space in the lodge and in class. Full payment due 7/13/13. Please use this form to register: 2013 Whidbey Registration. You may print and mail it, or scan and email it if you choose to use Paypal.
